Self-Help for the Elderly Collaborates with Ring to Support Local Seniors

Self-Help for the Elderly (SHE) announced a collaboration with Ring to advance senior support initiatives on December 7, 2021. Ring is donating 1,000 Video Doorbells and Stick Up Cams to support the seniors in San Francisco. SHE will coordinate distribution of the Video Doorbells or Stick Up Cams to eligible senior residents in neighborhoods including Sunset, Richmond, Excelsior, Chinatown and West Portal.

To be eligible for a device, applicants must:

  • Be a resident of District 4, District 7, District 1, District 11 or District 3
  • Be at least 60 years of age
  • Live in a residence with working Wi-Fi
  • Have access to a smartphone
  • Be willing to receive training to learn how to use the device
  • Not equipped with existing outdoor security camera or Ring device(s) at home
